Uruguayan football athlete Federico Valverde recently has his contract with his long-time football squad, Real Madrid until 2027.
Extension of Fede’s Contract
According to reports, “Real Madrid FC and Fede Valverde have reached an agreement regarding the extension of the player’s contract in a deal that ties him to the club for the next six seasons, until 30 June 2027.”
Valverde, who joined Real Madrid’s youth team from Peñarol in 2016-2017, is now in his fourth season with the first team, which has won a Club World Cup, a La Liga title, and a Spanish Super Cup during his time there. Valverde was loaned to Deportivo de La Coruna in La Liga during the 2017-2018 season.
The Uruguayan midfielder has extended his contract with the La Liga giants until 2027. A €1 billion buyout clause was also included in the contract for his stay in Real Madrid.
Valverde has spent the previous six years of his career at Real after being signed as a teenager from Uruguayan club Peñarol in 2016.
During that time, the 23-year-old has established himself as an important member of the Blancos’ team, and he has now been offered a lucrative new contract that will keep him at the Santiago Bernabeu for the foreseeable future.
What are the contract’s terms?
Valverde’s contract with Real was set to expire in 2025, but they reported early on Tuesday that he has agreed to extend it for another two years.
In addition to receiving a big wage raise, the Uruguay international’s original €500 million (£428 million/$527 million) release clause has been increased.
Who else has Real signed?
Valverde is the latest in a long line of first-teamers to sign new contracts at the Bernabeu this summer, as the club continues to place a premium on retaining the nucleus of the existing squad.
Luka Modric extended his contract for another season just before it expired, Nacho Fernandez and Karim Benzema have been signed until 2023, Dani Carvajal’s contract has been extended until 2025, and Thibaut Courtois goalie has also signed a contract for five years.
Valverde is just as important to the Real board as those five individuals, and despite attention from a number of other elite clubs in recent months, he is more than content to spend the peak years of his career in the Spanish capital.
